Jubilee Brass!
Mission statement:
Jubilee Brass is a
Salvation Army brass band
comprised of Christian
Salvationist musicians. both
men and women, whose sole
purpose is to present
entertaining and spiritually
challenging music in order
to glorify God.
Jubilee Brass was formed in
1996. This 43 member brass
ensemble is composed of
retired men and women who
have played over the years
in Salvation Army Centres
across southwestern Ontario.
The combined service of
brass band music making
would be close to 2420
years. The band has
performed both in Canada and
the United States in a
variety of community events
including Seniors Centres
and Nursing Homes. London’s
Centennial Hall and Western
Fair and Pinafore Park in
St Thomas along with the St
George Apple Festival.
The band performs regularly
in special events at
Salvation Army centres and
local churches and is kept
very busy making music
during the Christmas season.
A variety of music from
traditional hymns of the
church with highlights from
classical composers along
with toe tapping marches and
the contemporary sounds of
today are included in the
Band’s varied repertoire.
The Band executive officer
is Major Wilson Noble and
the musical director is
Bandmaster Jim Gordon. The
band hopes to entertain you,
but their primary goal is to
glorify God through music
making. |
