Pinery Baptist Church was the venue for a Jubilee Brass concert On Thursday, September 17th,2009.

Over half a million visitors are attracted to the Pinery Park annually for it is a place of unique natural beauty.

The Pinery park covers over 6300 acres and consists of 757 plant, 325 bird and 60 butterfly species. It also boasts a globally rare Oak Savannah ecosystem as well as freshwater coastal dunes for endangered species and is the largest protected forest in southwestern Ontario.
One can enjoy a 10 km beach, 10 nature trails and 38km of ski trails.
The park provides 1,000 camp sites.

The day for the Band started with lunch and fellowship. It’s always good to feed this group first. This time though they had to forego ‘nap time’ for ‘concert time’.

The program began with Soderstrom’s ‘Army of God’. The Pastor then followed with the opening song and prayer.

Next up was Bill Gordon’s Processional ‘Be glorified’ and a vocal solo by Major Ron Bowles, a member of the band executive, “How great thou art”.

A march medley ‘Gospel Jubilee’, another Gordon number pleased the crowd with familiar tunes.
The band, under the leadership of George Holmes, presented the vocal number ‘Redeemed’ and later ‘’In me,Lord’

The bandmaster Jim Gordon gave the audience the opportunity to choose and sing a couple of their favorite hymns.
The March ‘Fill the world with music’ followed as well as two solos:” Highland Cathedral on the ‘pipes’ by Band Sergeant Jack Bernard and the Cornet solo ‘I’d rather have Jesus’ by Karl Jolly.

The Executive officer Major Wilson Noble brought a devotional and the program concluded with the selection ‘Praise my soul’.

A fringe benefit on this beautiful fall day was the casual drive through scenic farmlands in southwest Ontario.
