The Story of
our players

11.11.11.

The eleventh hour, the eleventh day, the eleventh month.

We remembered them!

As thousands gathered and as the bell tower rang out the eleventh hour, Major Gary Venables broke the eerie silence with a bold and clear rendition of the Last Post.

The venue was the cenotaph in the heart of the great city of London Ontario and Jubilee Brass had the distinct pleasure of participating in this Remembrance Day service.

Color was everywhere. The poppies, the softly falling multi hued leaves, the military dress uniforms, the red coated Canadian Mounties.

Many present sang the hymn, mouthed the words of the tunes played by the band in sensitive reverence. Tears coursed the cheeks of many., What are the stories behind those tears? A family member, a friend lost in the violence of war being remembered once again?

Jubilee Brass is proud to be a part of this event as we too remember the peace we enjoy thanks to those who made it so.

The concluding offering of the band was the March ‘Colonel Bogey’ played with style and dignity as the many gathered troops marched off in step and with well earned pride in their impeccable units.
