JUBILEE BRASS VISITS SARNIA, ONTARIO.

From a dozen different communities in southern Ontario 33 members of Jubilee Brass descended on Sarnia in time to conduct the morning worship service at the Salvation Army (Majors Rick and Drucella Pollard).

The service was led by the Executive officer Major Wilson Noble who also brought an inspiring and challenging message. Items brought by the band included "Be still","As the Deer", and "Channels of Blessing". The band became a vocal chorus in a rendition of "In me Lord".

Following a delicious meal at the church the band drove across town to the Imperial Theatre to be featured at the 'Gospel by the bay 'O8''. During a one hour worship service at 2pm the band shared the stage and spotlight with Bob and Jeanne Johnson, gospel music artists of Nashville fame who have appeared with the famous Spear family and in the 'Homecoming' concerts of Bill and Gloria Gaither.

The band's contributions at this event were the march "Cairo Red Shield", the song arrangement "Bright and Beautiful",the chorus arrangement "Be still", the vocal selection "the Calvary track" and the selection "To God be the glory".

At 3pm the band presented a one hour concert chaired by Lieutenant Colonel Norman Coles that was so well received by the audience that they afforded the band a standing ovation at the conclusion.

Under the leadership of the indomitable BandMaster Jim Gordon the band presented a varied program incorporating many well known church hymns.

The concert opened with Robert Readhead's " Fanfare of Praise". The march "Praising my Saviour", selections "Constant Trust" and "Hyfrydol" were featured as well as the vocal arrangement of "Rock of Ages" and the chorus arrangement of "As the Deer".

Trombone soloist Tom Quick gave a sensitive treatment of "I walked to day where Jesus walked". B/M Gordon was joined by Bert Wormington and Fred Boycott in a stirring rendition of the cornet trio "What a Friend".Band Sergeant Jack Bernard, once again, moved the crowd as he presented "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes.

This day proved to be a memorable one in terms of ministry opportunities, musical competence and wonderful Christian fellowship.
