How many years a bandsmen: I
spent three or four years
with London Citadel under
Glenn Shepherd and then Bram
Gregson. I left the band and
regular attendance at the
Salvation Army for quite a
few years. Our daughter,
Heather brought us back to
the Army a number of years
ago. My wife, Lynn and I
assumed the job of Christmas
Kettle co-ordinators for
London Citadel. I soon
realized (my mercenary side)
that a kettle with music did
much better than one
without. I got out an old
cornet and began to practise
with the intent of becoming
good enough to play a few
Christmas carols in a LCBO
parking lot beside a kettle.
I found that I was enjoying
the instrument much more
than I anticipated. I
continued working with the
cornet playing songs that I
enjoyed playing and hearing.
After a couple of years of
working on my own, I had an
opportunity to join Jubilee
Brass. I joined the group
and have been learning ever
since. I have enjoyed the
fellowship I have found with
the band.
Church home: London Citadel
Career: I spent just over 33
years with the City of
London Police Service. Most
of my career was with the
uniform mobile patrol
section as first responder
to all kinds of requests for
service. I spent some time
with the Criminal
Investigation Service on the
vice squad. In my last years
in uniform, I specialized in
impaired driving and the
operation of Breathilyzer
and Intoxilizer testing
equipment. |
